Dette er en vintage med meget stor intensitet, men også elegance. Frugtagtig, men ikke moden, med aggressive og rige tanniner.
2011 er et fantastisk vintageår og der er ingen tvivl om at denne vin bliver et samlerobjekt, da den allerede har opnået meget høje scorer på vinmesser.

Roy Hersh - This is the 2nd Vintage Port produced by the fine young winemaker, Luisa Borges. Her blend includes Tinta Roriz, Amarela, Cão and Barroca, as well as Touriga Franca and some old vine field blends. Beyond my three days evaluating this bottling blind, I've had the Vieira de Sousa 2011 Port on three other occasions, with very consistent notes overall. The most recent was in early October, (at the source) and with a three hour decant, the VP still showed very similar characteristics to my previous experiences. Lifted fragrances of lavender, dark wild berries, cedar, herbs and kalamata. Uber-ripe and concentrated blackberry and sweet grape flavors which retained balance and finesse, due to the judicious dose of lively acidity and a firm chassis of tannins that mellowed by day 3. Medium-bodied, soft and rather nicely contoured vinous and voluptuous mouthfeel, and a savory medium length finish that reverberates the distinctive freshness of the fruit. Servering | Ruby style portvine skal serveres ved 16-18°C for at bibringe vinen lidt friskhed i forhold til stuetemperatur. De røde portvine holder sig generelt ikke så godt i flasken efter åbning; dog kan nogle af de meget unge og rå LBV'er og Vintage have godt af at få lidt luft. Husk at servere vinen i et rigtig portvinsglas, der tillader den kraftige bouqet at komme til sin ret. |
